8.2 Five races are scheduled, of which three are required to be completed to constitute a series.
9. Personal Buoyancy.
All competitors shall wear life jackets or adequate personal buoyancy at all times whilst afloat. This amends RRS Rule 40.
10 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
10.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race.
The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
10.2 The Race Organisers shall not be liable for any loss, damage, death or personal injury
howsoever caused to the owner/competitor, as a result of their taking part in the race or races.
Moreover every competitor warrants the suitability of his boat for the race or races. A boat is entirely responsible for its own safety, whether afloat or ashore, and nothing whether in the Notice of Race or Sailing Instructions or anywhere else, reduces this responsibility. It is for boats to decide whether it is fit to sail in the conditions in which it will find itself. By launching or going to sea, the boat confirms that it is fit for those conditions and that its crew is competent to sail and compete in them.
10.3 Nothing done by the organisers can reduce the responsibility of the boat nor will it make the organisers responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, however it may have occurred, as a result of the boat taking part in the racing. The organisers encompass everyone helping to run the race and the event, and including the Organising Authority, the Race Committee, the Race Officer, patrol boats and Beach-masters.
10.4 The provision of patrol boats does not relieve the boat of its responsibilities.
