No wind, no racing but an enjoyable day nevertheless.
Looks like there will be a re-run on October 23rd - TBC
Well what can I say? Saturday morning, cloudless sky and not a whisper of wind in the hanging air. So it stayed for the entirity of what would have been the initial event of the Blaze 2010 calendar. Over 20 Blaze/Finn helms showed intent by turning up.
Whilst the Finn sailors looked fierce by biting off the heads of Canada Geese for their breakfast, the Blaze sailors contented themselves by measuring each other boats - again.
Racing was postponed a number of times before finally giving up at 2:00 p.m. By then then the nature of the event had changed into an afternoon of easy conversation, washed down with a pint or two of London Pride and an unexpected suntan on the club balcony overlooking the M4.
Thanks to all those who did come especially the visitors, their support and conversation was appreciated. Thanks also to two local Phantom sailors for volunteering as Race Officers (Alan Powell and Simon Smith) and Commodore Jeremy Carey.
See you all later in the year.
